This is the official website of The Downs Benefice Winchester, Hampshire.
We aspire to be a vibrant Christian Community with Jesus at the heart of our ministry - making a difference.
We aim to do this by being a relevant, welcoming, inclusive worshipping community, embracing all people, serving others and sharing the message of Jesus.
And we want to do this with humility, grace, love and prayer.

Boaz Project
|
Boaz was set up to help address the lack of facilities for people with learning disabilities once they have left full time education. Its aim is to create an atmosphere of the work ethic for people who otherwise cannot gain employment. Its long term desire is to be able to employ some of those who access its facilities. The Project's Christian ethos seeks to address the whole person, body, mind and spirit, aiming to release and realise each person's full human potential to the glory of God. Many volunteers choose to help at the project as part of their own healing journey following bereavement, relationship breakdown or redundancy.

Andover Crisis Centre
|
Supported at Harvest time with goods and a retiring collection.
Recently rebranded as ‘Finding Freedom from Abuse’, the Andover Crisis and Support Centre has been helping survivors of domestic and sexual abuse move forward with their lives since 1975. The organisation now includes a 19-bed refuge as well as a number of ‘moving on’ properties to help survivors of abuse gain their independence. It also offers a growing number of outreach services and education and therapeutic programmes designed to support children, women, men and LBGT+ across the Test Valley region to recognise and deal with any experience or fear of domestic and sexual violence or abuse.
